The PC80 is a world first: it was developed by the Sonnenrepublik to enable the feeding of any power station into the 230V AC grid. This is done via a commercially available module inverter (e.g. 300-350VA), which is connected to the PC80. The power is then fed in with the lowest losses via the DC side of the power station, while its highly lossy AC output (high standby consumption, very low efficiency at low powers) remains switched off.
In a typical application example, during the day (when the sun is shining) the power station is indirectly charged via the 230V mains and stores the solar power generated by the balcony power station, while in the evening this is then fed back into the house grid via the PC80 in the base load range.
Attention: The inverter required for the grid feed is not included in the scope of delivery! You can order it from us by email as a set with the PC80.
The most important features:
- Feed-in with approx. 70W AC in the base load range, therefore almost 100% self-consumption.
- Efficiency of PC80 > 95%, total efficiency with Powerstation and inverter 85-90%.
- Energy extraction from Powerstation at 12h discharge approx. 950Wh, corresponds to the average daily energy yield of a 300VA solar system with 380Wp in the period March to October in Germany.
- Elegant black aluminium housing with small dimensions
- No wearing parts
- Made in Germany
